Great Meeting at Pocklington
The gentlemen of Pocklington were instrumental in the creation of the York to Hull railway line through Pocklington. The inaugual meeting was held in the Oddfellows Hall in 1845 and they invited George Hudson the 'Railway King' to the meeting. The article below was from the Hull Packet newspaper for 4th April 1845.
