All Trade directories and original documents have been scanned by Andrew Sefton, and where they are converted to text, it is by using the assistance of Abbyy OCR software.

For the loading of PDF's like the Iron Age Map it is recommended to use the latest Browsers like Microsoft Edge (update of IE11), or Google Chrome. Firefox seems to have problems loading complex PDF's and is very slow at drawing the screen.

Firefox have recently changed their browser to default to save and download any PDF rather than immediately show on the screen. So for viewing Tithe Maps and Aircraft Losses for example, in Firefox go to SETTINGS -> APPLICATIONS -> PORTABLE DOCUMENT FORMAT (PDF) -> Change setting from 'Save File' to 'Open in Firefox'
