Pocklington Horse and Foal Show and Pocklington Agricultural Show
Although a horse fair was held in Pocklington from early times, an official show was started in Victorian times. The Pocklington Horse and Foal Show started in 1858 and in 1929 Henry Powell was still secretary of the society. It was a prominent annual event in the East Riding. Mr. Wm. Brown remembered 'Feathers Field' where the Horse Show was held, being where the Rugby field is today. The Horse and Foal show became the Pocklington Agricultural Show in 1923, with the last one held in 1931.
