His father was John Moor - Born 1799 in Pocklington, married Mary Sharp (born 1803 at Carlton House Pocklington) .

Their 10 children were:

  • John Green Moor   -  Born 11.3.1825 in Pocklington, married Elizabeth Jewitt (born in Ousthorpe) on 02.04.1857.    Elizabeth died in 1871 or 1872 in childbirth, and John Green Moor died on 03.11.1912 at Eastrington.   Their children were: John Henry Moor born 1858 & Joseph Jewitt Moor born 1860 at Ranby/Babworth, migrated to Australia in 1883;  Mary E Moor  born 1862 at Seaton Ross;  William Moor born 1866, migrated to Australia in 1886;  and George born at 1870 at Gilberdike.
  • Henry Moor  -  Christened 06.11.1826 in Pocklington, married Mary Swinden (born in South Duffield in 1837) and lived at Wellington Oak Public House, Canal Head, Pocklington.   All their children were born in Pocklington:  Anne E Swinden/Moor b 1856 (married Thomas Beadnall and had Mary E born 1878 and Annie born 1880);  William Moor  b 1860;  Harriet Moor b 1863;  George Moor b1865;  John R Moor  b 1868;  Joseph Moor b 1870;  Mary Moor b 1873;  Jane Moor b 1876
  • Mary Ann Moor  -  b 1828 in Pocklington, m George Angus (b in Hull) a blacksmith.  They lived in Pocklington.  No record of children.
  • Harriet Moor  -  Born Nov 1830 in Pocklington.  Emigrated to USA and died on 29th Oct 1912 in Greenfield, Wayne, Michigan, United States (See photo below).
  • Emma Moor  -  Baptized  24.01.1833 in Pocklington, m George Jaram from Hayton, lived at Beilby, and later Barmby Moor, farmers.   No record of children.
  • George Moor   -  born May 1835, unmarried, servant on farm at Carr Lane Pocklington

  • Robert Moor  -  christened 01.04.1837 in Pocklington, (I haven’t found any other trace of him.)

  • William Moor  -  born 1839 Pocklington and died in 1840.
  • William James Moor   -  b 1841 in Pocklington, farm servant at Carr Lane, Pocklington, m Elizabeth Hanley and their 6 children were all born in Pocklington  -  Mary Moor  b 1866, Anne Moor b 1868, Emma Moor b 1871, John Moor b 1873, Kate Moor b 1875, Jarnes (James??) Moor b 1881.  

  • Joseph Jesse Moor  -  b 21.11.1842 in Pocklington, farmer at Barmby on the Moor, m Zillah Arnott in 1872.  Their 16 children were: Annie Arnott/Moor b 1870, Robert Moor b 1873, Christiana Moor b 1874, Joseph Jesse Moor b 24.03.1876, Walter Moor b 1878, Thomas Arnott Moor b 1879, John Henry Moor b 1880, James William Moor b 1881, George Ernest Moor b 1883, Florence Jane Moor b 1884, Herbert Moor b 1886, Beatrice Mary Moor b 1888, Harold Moor b 1890, Elsie May Moor b 1892, Dora Elizabeth Moor b 1895, Zillah Moor b 1896
