On the 9th November 1940, Pocklington was attacked by enemy aircraft and a bomb landed on a house called 'Clymping' in Garths End (no. 27) killing two civillians, Albert Edwin Young aged 65, and his daughter Joan Lesley Young aged 35. Thanks to Roger Bellingham for the newspaper clipping. |
