This detail shows the attraction outside the Cross Keys Inn in the main street of Bishop Wilton just by the cross roads.

If you look closely you will be able to see, assembled round the sign for the Cross Keys, two travellers' round-topped caravans with some kind of sideshow, with a large awning, in between. From eyewitness accounts we know that such attractions came to the village on Pancake Tuesday and took up that precise position.

The tower of St Edith's Church can be seen, faintly, behind the Cross Keys.
