Church & Vicarage - 8previous postcard | up | next postcard It has been said that the wife of the new vicar, Rev. Peters, didn't want to live in the old vicarage by the church and so a new vicarage was built. The next postcard in this section (out of order, sorry!) shows the laying of the foundation stone. A number of people have been identified: James Newby (second from the right); Rev. Peters in white with black cassock, hat and hands clasped in front of him; George Brown and his family (tall man, second bowler hat from the left with his family to his left). Over the heads, spot the sign post and Hall Farm buildings. |
