Bridge - 7 - What's on the back?

The reverse of the postcard

What stands out on the reverse of this postcard is the surname of the recipient, Proctor, which is nearly the same as the shop outside which the man in the long apron is standing. Could this have been a misspelling?

With some detective work we can identify the sender, S. H. Elsworth, as Sophia H. Elsworth , widow and Innkeeper at the Fleece (the pub in the photo). Despite the misspelling, Miss Proctor could be the daughter of the owner of the Procter chain of shops which had branches in Bishop Wilton, Pocklington and Bubwith.

The postcard has a postmark of 1904. The manager of Procters in 1901, according to the 1901 census, was Thomas Eggleston. That could be him in the long apron.
