This photo is special because it shows some individuals who do not appear on other known photos but it is something of a mystery. It was definitely taken around 1927. There is no record or memory of any match between the veterans' team and the ladies of the village so the wearing of kit by some of the women (the youngsters) is probably just for the camera. It is possible that it was posed for the publicity surrounding the initial challenge. This is made more likely by the fact that some of the men in the picture weren't in the team that was named in the publicity for the actual matches
