Bishop Wilton Show - 1923previous show photo | up | next show photo This photograph of the Bishop Wilton Show in 1923 when it was on the "Old Show Ground" (between Fisher's and the Vicarage) was produced as a postcard but it was only a handwritten note on the back that identified where and when it was. Those who saw it first who had no memory of the time were a bit doubtful that it really was the Bishop Wilton Show. But it didn't take long to find someone to authenticate it. More than that, the father of a village resident said that he helped his father to erect the stand! There was a charge to get into the grandstand - you can just see people queuing up on the lefthand side. Newly refurbished in 1921, the grandstand was put into storage between shows and re-erected for the day. Judging is in progress in the ring.
